Brett Charles Young is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born in Anaheim, California, and attended Calvary Chapel High School. During his youth, he was a talented baseball player and played at the collegiate level. An elbow injury eventually ended his baseball career, leading him to pursue music full-time. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to develop his songwriting skills and perform in local venues. In 2016, he signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records. His self-titled debut album was released in 2017 and achieved significant commercial success. The album featured hit singles such as 'In Case You Didn't Know' and 'Sleep Without You'.
