Darsheel Safary is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi cinema. He gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim for his debut performance as Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi in the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. His portrayal of a child with dyslexia earned him the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. Following his successful debut, he appeared in the 2008 film Bumm Bumm Bole, a remake of the Iranian film Children of Heaven. He subsequently starred in the 2010 film Zokkomon, produced by Walt Disney Pictures. In 2011, he played the lead role in the film Break Ke Baad. He also participated in the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2012. Safary took a break from acting to focus on his education, attending H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. He returned to the screen in 2020 with the short film Capital A.
