Dhanush is a prominent Indian actor, producer, and filmmaker who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He made his acting debut in the 2002 film Thulluvadho Ilamai, directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja. He gained widespread recognition for his performance in the 2003 film Kaadhal Kondein. His breakthrough as a pan-Indian star came with the 2011 film Aadukalam, for which he won his first National Film Award for Best Actor.
