Maya Khabira Rudolph is an American actress, comedian, and singer who rose to prominence as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2000 to 2007. She was born in Gainesville, Florida, and raised in Los Angeles, California, as the daughter of singer Minnie Riperton and composer Richard Rudolph. Rudolph attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography. She began her career as a member of the alternative rock band The Rentals before joining the Groundlings improv troupe. During her tenure on Saturday Night Live, she became known for her versatile impressions and comedic timing. Following her departure from the show, she starred in numerous films including Bridesmaids, Grown Ups, and Sisters. She has provided voice work for animated features such as Shrek the Third, Big Hero 6, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Rudolph has received multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for her work, including her portrayal of Kamala Harris on Saturday Night Live. She also starred in and executive produced the television series Loot for Apple TV+. In addition to her acting career, she performs with the Prince cover band Princess. She is in a long-term relationship with director Paul Thomas Anderson, with whom she has four children.
