Michael Clarke is a former Australian international cricketer who served as the captain of the national team. He is widely regarded as one of the finest batsmen of his generation. Clarke made his Test debut for Australia in 2004 against India in Bangalore. He was a key member of the Australian team that won the 2007 Cricket World Cup. In 2011, he was appointed as the full-time captain of the Australian Test and One Day International teams. He led Australia to a 5-0 whitewash of England in the 2013-14 Ashes series. Clarke was named the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2010. He retired from international cricket following the 2015 Ashes series. Throughout his career, he scored over 8,000 runs in Test cricket with a high score of 329 not out. Since his retirement, he has worked as a cricket commentator and media personality.
