📖 Naseeruddin Shah Biography
Naseeruddin Shah is a highly acclaimed Indian film and stage actor and director. He is widely regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, particularly known for his work in parallel cinema. He is an alumnus of the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India. Shah made his film debut in 1975 with the film Nishant. Throughout his career, he has won three National Film Awards and numerous Filmfare Awards. He is also a prominent theatre personality and founded the theatre group Motley Productions in 1977. His notable filmography includes critically acclaimed works such as Sparsh, Aakrosh, Masoom, and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. He has also appeared in international projects, including The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. In 1987, he was awarded the Padma Shri, and in 2003, he received the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is married to actress Ratna Pathak Shah. His autobiography, titled And Then One Day: A Memoir, was published in 2014. He continues to be an influential figure in both Indian theatre and mainstream Bollywood cinema.
