Neeraj Chopra is an Indian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. He made history at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by becoming the first Indian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal in a track and field event. He followed this success by winning the gold medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Chopra is also the first Indian to win a Diamond League title. He has consistently performed at the highest level, securing gold medals at the 2018 Asian Games and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. His personal best throw of 89.94 meters remains a national record for India. Before his senior success, he gained international attention by winning gold at the 2016 World U20 Championships.
