Rafael Nadal Parera is a Spanish professional tennis player widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in history. He has won 22 Grand Slam men's singles titles, including a record 14 French Open titles. Known as the 'King of Clay,' his dominance on the surface is considered the greatest achievement in any single discipline in sports history. Nadal spent 209 weeks as the world No. 1 and finished as the year-end No. 1 five times. He is one of only two men to complete the Career Golden Slam in singles. Throughout his career, he has maintained a fierce rivalry with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, collectively known as the Big Three. Nadal has also won two Olympic gold medals, one in singles and one in doubles. He is known for his intense physical style of play, incredible mental toughness, and signature topspin forehand. Beyond his on-court success, he founded the Rafa Nadal Academy in his hometown of Manacor to support young tennis talent. He has been a recipient of the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award multiple times for his conduct on the court. In October 2024, he announced his retirement from professional tennis, concluding his career at the Davis Cup Finals.
