Sana Minatozaki is a Japanese singer and dancer based in South Korea. She is best known as a member of the internationally acclaimed K-pop girl group Twice, formed by JYP Entertainment. Sana was born in Tennōji-ku, Osaka, Japan, and developed an interest in K-pop during her youth. She was scouted by JYP Entertainment while shopping in Japan and subsequently moved to South Korea to begin her training in 2012. In 2015, she participated in the reality survival show Sixteen, where she successfully secured her spot in the final lineup of Twice. She officially debuted with the group in October 2015 with the EP The Story Begins. Sana gained significant popularity for her iconic 'shy shy shy' line in the group's hit single 'Cheer Up', which became a viral cultural phenomenon in South Korea.
