Toby Alderweireld is a professional Belgian footballer who plays as a centre-back for Royal Antwerp. He began his professional career at Ajax, where he won three consecutive Eredivisie titles. In 2013, he moved to Atlético Madrid, helping the club win the La Liga title and reach the UEFA Champions League final. He later joined Southampton on loan before signing with Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. During his time at Tottenham, he became a key figure in their defense and helped the team reach the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. In 2021, he moved to the Qatari club Al-Duhail for one season. He returned to his home country in 2022 to join Royal Antwerp, where he captained the team to a domestic league and cup double in his first season.
