Viola Davis is a highly acclaimed American actress and producer known for her powerful performances on stage and screen. She is the first African American actor to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting, having won an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and two Tony Awards. Davis was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, and grew up in Central Falls, Rhode Island. She studied at the Juilliard School before beginning her professional acting career in the late 1980s.
