Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, known professionally as YG, is an American rapper and songwriter from Compton, California. He first gained significant attention in 2010 with his debut single, 'Toot It and Boot It', which reached the Billboard Hot 100. YG is widely recognized for his role in popularizing the West Coast hip hop subgenre known as Bompton-style or modern G-funk.
