Anthony Ramos is an American actor and singer who rose to prominence for his dual roles as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton. He was born and raised in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Ramos attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, graduating in 2014. His early career included various regional theater productions before his breakout success in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton. In 2018, he starred in the film A Star Is Born, playing the character Ramon. He gained further acclaim for his lead role as Usnavi de la Vega in the 2021 film adaptation of In the Heights.
