Chou Tzu-yu, known mononymously as Tzuyu, is a Taiwanese singer based in South Korea. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Twice, formed by JYP Entertainment. Tzuyu was discovered by JYP Entertainment at the MUSE Performing Arts Workshop in Tainan in 2012. She moved to South Korea in November 2012 to begin her training. She participated in the South Korean reality show Sixteen in 2015, where she was selected as one of the nine members of the new girl group Twice. She officially debuted with Twice in October 2015 with the release of their first EP, The Story Begins. Tzuyu is widely recognized for her visual appeal and has frequently appeared on lists of the most beautiful faces in the world. In addition to her group activities, she has participated in various variety shows and brand endorsements. In 2024, she made her solo debut with the extended play 'abouTZU'. She is the youngest member, or 'maknae', of Twice. Her popularity has contributed significantly to the group's success across Asia and internationally. She continues to be a prominent figure in the K-pop industry.
