Dav Pilkey is a highly successful American author and illustrator of children's literature. He is most widely recognized for creating the popular 'Captain Underpants' book series. During his childhood, Pilkey was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, which often led to him being sent to the hallway by his teachers. It was in these hallway sessions that he began creating his own comic books. He won a Caldecott Honor in 1997 for his book 'The Paperboy'.
