Tyra Banks is an American television personality, model, producer, and businesswoman. She began her career as a model at the age of 15 and became the first African American woman to be featured on the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Banks was one of the original Victoria's Secret Angels, serving in the role from 1997 to 2005. She transitioned into television as the creator and host of the long-running reality competition series America's Next Top Model. Additionally, she hosted her own daytime talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, which earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards. Banks has also appeared in several films, including Higher Learning, Life-Size, and Coyote Ugly. She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School's Owner/President Management program. In 2011, she published a young adult novel titled Modelland, which reached the New York Times Best Seller list. She has been recognized for her efforts in promoting body positivity and challenging traditional beauty standards in the fashion industry. Banks served as the host of America's Got Talent for two seasons starting in 2017. She continues to be a prominent figure in media, entrepreneurship, and fashion advocacy.
