Kim Seok-jin, known professionally as Jin, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and member of the boy band BTS. He debuted as a member of BTS in June 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. As a songwriter, he has contributed to several tracks released by BTS, including 'Awake', 'Epiphany', and 'Moon'. In 2019, he released his first independent song, the digital track 'Tonight'. He made his official debut as a solo artist in October 2022 with the single 'The Astronaut'. Jin is widely recognized for his vocal range and his visual appeal, often referred to by fans as 'Worldwide Handsome'. He graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in Art and Acting. In 2022, he began his mandatory military service in the South Korean army, becoming the first member of BTS to do so. He completed his service and was discharged in June 2024. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades both as a member of BTS and as a solo performer. He is known for his variety show appearances and his charismatic personality. His solo work often explores themes of self-love and personal growth.
